The 5-Step Post-Wax Routine That Actually Works
Share
Why Post-Wax Care Matters
Waxing pulls hair from the root, leaving follicles open and skin temporarily stripped of its protective barrier. Without proper care, this leads to ingrown hairs, bumps, and prolonged redness.
The 5-Step Routine
Step 1: Cool Water Rinse (Immediately)
Rinse the waxed area with cool or lukewarm water to close pores and reduce inflammation. Avoid hot water for 24 hours.
Step 2: Mist While Damp
While skin is still slightly damp, apply SkinGuard Smooth. The mist absorbs better on slightly hydrated skin and immediately begins calming the area.
Step 3: Let It Air-Dry
No rubbing. Let the mist absorb on its own. Rubbing introduces friction to already-sensitive skin.
Step 4: Loose Clothing Only
For the next few hours, wear loose, breathable clothing over the waxed area. Tight fabric traps heat and bacteria near open follicles.
Step 5: Exfoliate 48 Hours Later
Once initial sensitivity is gone, gently exfoliate to prevent dead skin cells from trapping new hair growth — the leading cause of ingrown hairs.
Repeat this routine consistently and you'll notice fewer bumps and smoother results with every appointment.
